Due to the limitation of chip technology, all popular mainstream vision chips (CCD, CMOS, EMCCD, etc.) have to choose between high speed full frame, high quantum efficiency, low noise, high dynamic range and other parameters. Therefore, the traditional research cameras based on these chips are often unable to meet the requirements of customers alone, and for some demanding special fields. Now, the emergence of SCMOS chip is beginning to solve these problems.


What is SCMOS?


SCMOS is a scientific CMOS chip jointly developed by PCO company and other companies. It avoids the disadvantages of traditional CMOS chip, such as high dark current, high readout noise, low fill factor and poor consistency. It inherits the advantages of CMOS, such as high speed and low consumption, and brings a new dawn to the field of image vision.
